The Rep reporters Andisa Bonani and Simtembile Mgidi are currently in Mlungisi where tyres have been set alight in several streets, including Pelem Road.
It is believed to be related to service delivery complaints including the upcoming auction of further assets belonging to the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality.
Calls have been made on the provincial government to address the Mlungisi residents with threats to shut down the town of Komani next. The Mlungisi protest action is being led by the Komani Residents’ association, a newly-formed structure.
Several roads have been blocked and traffic disrupted.
