Two suspects have been arrested following a business robbery at the Oriental Plaza in East London on September 6 this year.
Police indicated in a statement earlier today that a crime-intelligence driven operation was conducted by members of the East London detectives and crime intelligence with the assistance of the East London crime prevention unit.
The information led to the arrests of two men, aged 28 and 38 today. Goods, believed to have been taken during the robbery, were apparently found during the first arrest.
Further information led to the arrest of another suspect, believed to be an employee of a security company. Items recovered during said arrest included a gas pistol, a revolver and live rounds, a Correctional Services bullet proof vest, a SAPS cap, a watch, two digital cameras, an Opel Astra and undisclosed amount in coins. Also seized were a Samsung tablet, a Nokia cellphone and five firearm holsters.
Both will appear in the East London Magistrate’s Court shortly.
