FORMER Komani resident George Starita of Braamfontein, Johannesburg writes: Sometime in the late ’60s or early ’70s a legal battle took place, partly through the columns of The Rep, for the release of a mental patient from Komani Hospital.
Sandy Greig, father of cricketer Tony Greig and then editor of The Rep, was in the forefront of the campaign for the patient’s release.
Many older residents of Queenstown may remember the case. If anyone has news clippings of the incident, would they kindly get in touch with me via e-mail at mwgeodek@mweb.co.za
