Teen model wants to make a difference

A YOUNG Cacadu model has been selected to compete in the Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa 2017 pageant.

AT IT AGAIN: Current Miss Queenstown Yanelisa Bokveld is a finalist in Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa

Yanelisa   Bokveld , 17, who is doing her first year of study in hospitality management at Tshwane University of Technology, is hoping to inspire people.

The former Dordrecht High School pupil was crowned Miss Queenstown last year.

“I have always wanted to make a difference in the community. I want to be a role model.”

She will be competing against 35 other women, including another two from the Eastern Cape, for the crown.

Miss Teen Commonwealth South Africa is in its fourth year with a main cash prize of R15000 plus other prizes up for grabs. The title holders will be involved in charity events.

The pageant aims to create a platform for women of all ages to become charity and culture ambassadors within South Africa and the broader international community.

The finale will take place on April 29 in Pretoria.
